From One Proud Vincentian Family to the World: Our Story

As the owners of Dominion Fishing & Charters, and proud children of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, we want to take a moment to share a bit about our family and our beautiful homeland — where we come from, and what shaped us.

Fishing, the sea, the salt — it’s in our DNA.
Both my husband and I are proud children (his mom & my dad) of what we locally call “fisher folks.” From a young age, we had the privilege of traveling along the shores of St. Vincent and the Grenadines with our parents — fishing, hauling nets, and catching “chi chi” by their side. It wasn’t just a way of life — it was how we learned patience, strength, and the value of hard work.

My mom was not in the fishing business, but she played an equally important role in shaping who I am. A hardworking stay-at-home mom, she raised us with strong values, firm discipline, and a solid foundation rooted in church.

We’ve made it our mission to pass those same principles on to our children. Dominion Fishing & Charters was born out of a continued love for the art of fishing and a deep connection to our country.

The Cupid-Edwards family legacy lives through us — and through DOMINION.

Our Culture Runs Deep

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is more than just stunning beaches and clear blue waters — it’s a place rich with history, culture, and community. Our roots trace back to the Kalinago people, and over time, our island became a vibrant blend of African, European, and Indigenous influences. This beautiful mix is what gives our culture its color, strength, and spirit.

Nine Mornings

One of our most cherished traditions is Nine Mornings — something you won’t find anywhere else in the world. For nine days before Christmas, we wake up while it’s still dark to celebrate with music, dancing, games, and pure joy in the streets. It’s a time when the whole island comes together like one big family.

Vincy Mas (Carnival)

Our Carnival, known as Vincy Mas, is a time to let creativity shine! From vibrant costumes to steelpan, soca, and calypso music, it’s a true expression of who we are. Whether you’re dancing in the streets or just taking it all in, Carnival is an experience you’ll never forget.

Our Independence

On October 27, 1979, we gained independence — a proud and defining moment for every Vincentian. Since then, we’ve continued to move forward, rooted in faith, guided by community, and fueled by culture.

Everything we do — including this business — is built on the strength, creativity, and warmth of the Vincentian people. This is more than a business to us; it’s a piece of home.

We hope you enjoy your time here in St. Vincent & The Grenadines…

We are the Home of the Blessed.
